Duties: 10Assist with academic class and activity set-up when needed. Assist with event set-up, ticket sales and event take down when needed. Attend appropriate staff workshops and meetings. Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.Essential 20Use the cash register when selling concessions, memberships and other equipment. Assist with reconciliation and create deposit report.Essential 30Roam facility areas for safe use of equipment and safety of participants. Maintain and inventory equipment on a scheduled basis. Perform regular inspection and light cleaning of REC Center exercise equipment.Essential 40Oversee the safe usage of the Recreation & Student Activities Center. Monitor entry and exit of users of the Recreation Center Facility. Rent equipment from the Outdoor Recreation Center and assist with repairs when requested.Essential The Campus Recreation Assistant is responsible for monitoring facility access and ensuring the safe usage of the REC Center. This is a mid-level entry position that requires experience with cash handling. Knowledge of customer service, recreation, and wellness. First Aid and Adult CPR certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain this certification. Responsible for renting REC Center outdoor equipment, monitoring the entrance and exit, checking in guests and members, and maintaining a clean, friendly environment. Other responsibilities may include cardio/weight room inspection and cleaning, event set-up, and display creation. Applicants should be familiar with the services campus recreation provides. Qualified applicants should be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits in the current semester OR for summer employment, enrolled in at least 6 credits in fall 2020. Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Staff will assist with the opening and closing of the REC Center. We are looking for two employees to share summer shifts of 10:45am to 3:30pm and 3:30pm to 8:00pm Monday through Sunday. Summer REC Center employment includes a summer campus housing subsidy if REC Center employment is maintained. This position can easily transfer to the academic year if a positive employment record is maintained.
